Joseph Stephenson

Joseph “Joe” Stephenson, 65, of Kahoka, passed away at 11:37 am on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at his home.

He was born on December 13, 1956, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of the late Charles & Darlene Ruth (Hamburger) Stephenson. Joe married Tina Cleveland on February 11, 2012, in Kahoka and she survives.

Joe worked as an oven tender for Kahoka Prototype Foundry for many years until his retirement in 2020. He loved fishing, bowling, watching professional wrestling, St. Louis Cardinals baseball and NASCAR. Above all, Joe enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.

In addition to his wife, Tina, he is survived by daughters; Stacie Stephenson of Kahoka, Michelle Agnew of Keokuk, Iowa, Ashley (Trevor) Hurt of Kahoka and Techa (Tyler) Peterson of Hamilton, Illinois, a son; Brandon (Shilea) Wilson of Hamilton, Illinois, grandchildren; Alyssa (Ty) Armstrong, Austin and Trenton Hardy, Bryce Wilson, Bradlee, Jacob and Troy Lovel, Nova and Javalin Hurt, a great granddaughter; Ember Armstrong, a brother; John (Brenda) Stephenson of Kahoka, a sister; Julie (Steve) Mcleod of Keokuk, Iowa, and by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Joe was preceded in death by two brothers; Bob and Mike Stephenson, his beloved dog, Taco and by his beloved cat; Charlie.

A visitation honoring Joe’s life will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, August 26, 2022, at the Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home in Kahoka. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation service. Memorial contributions in memory of Joe are suggested to the family.
