JOSEPHINE EDMONDSON WOOD
Josephine Edmondson Wood, age 69, of Arcadia, FL, formerly of Kahoka, MO, passed away Monday, December 3, 2007, at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL.
She was born November 3, 1938 at Fox City, MO, the daughter of Earl and Minnie Nimmo Edmondson. She married Buddy Wood on August 17,1982 in Kahoka. He survives.
In addition, she is survived by five children: Frank Noble of Sarasota, FL, Billie Noble and friend, Lynda Fryer, of Canton, MO, Gary Noble of Ottumwa, IA, Tammi Lines and husband, Albert, of Joshua, TX, and Allen Shoup of Ona, FL; two stepsons, Robin Wood of Keokuk, IA, and Michael Wood of Kahoka, MO; a sister, Burnadean Balzer of Kahoka, MO; one brother, Glenn Edmondson and his wife, Pam, of Waconia, MN; her mother-in-law, Viola March, of Quincy, IL; three sisters-in-law, Linda Edmondson of Kahoka, MO, Callie Edmondson of Moody, MO, and Carol Rose and her husband of Donnellson, IA; three brothers-in-law, Bill Wood and his wife of Kansas City, MO, Jack March and his wife of Luray, MO, and Jerry March of Quincy, IL; seven grandchildren: Joshua Noble of Arcadia, FL, April Stevens and her husband, Chuck, of Keokuk, IA, Carson Noble and his wife, Corrie, of Quincy, IL, Tabitha Moore and her husband, Ryan, of Kahoka, MO, Michelle Neighbors of Fort Drum, NY, Phillip Ellis of Sarasota, FL, and,
Alex Shoup of Ona, FL; five great grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Edward Devon Shoup; five brothers: Lawrence, Don, Kenneth, Beverly, and Dean Edmondson; a sister, Dorothy Woods; a step-son, James Wood; and, two brothers-in-law, Earl Woods and Jerry Balzer.
Josephine graduated from Revere High School and received additional education as a Nurse's Aide and E. M. T. She ran a nursing home in Clark County and worked as a Nurse's Aide and was a former E.M.T. for the Clark Co. Ambulance.
She enjoyed spending time visiting with family and friends and had been blessed by
getting to have a visit with all of them recently at a family reunion in Clark County. Some of her
hobbies included making crafts and cooking for her family. She was an avid Tampa Bay
Buccaneers fan.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 8, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor Jay Zetterlund officiating. Burial was in the Sand Cemetery at St. Francisville, MO.
