Judy Mohr

Judy K. Mohr, 72, of Kahoka, passed away peacefully at 2:15 pm on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

She was born on July 3, 1951, the daughter of the late Mathew Clifford “Bud” & Lola Frances (McNally) Eder. She married Larry Mohr on May 8, 1993, at the United Methodist Church in Wayland and he survives.

Judy graduated from Clark County R1 High School with the class of 1969. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Wayland.  She had held several positions and wore many hats during her career. Judy had worked for Motorola in Quincy, Illinois, Dadant in Kahoka, C&R Grocery Store in Kahoka and served as a caregiver to many individuals during her lifetime. She loved people and enjoyed visiting with them. In many ways, people saw her as a caretaker of the community; she was always looking out for someone else’s needs. An example of this is how she would give to others in need. It was not uncommon for her to leave a care package anonymously for someone that needed help. Judy enjoyed travel, listening to music, spending time with her family and with her cats; Precious and Nicky. Judy loved life and all that it had to offer.

In addition to her husband, Larry, Judy is survived by her son; Brett (Renee) Sharify of Concord, North Carolina, two sisters; Kathy Jo (Edwin) Wilson of Kahoka, Lynn (Steve) Summers of Kahoka and by a brother; Mathew (Teresa) Eder of Anderson, South Carolina. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter; Ty Renee Sharify.

Graveside services honoring Judy’s life will be conducted privately at Frazee Cemetery. A public visitation will be held from 12:00 until 7:00 pm with family present between the hours of 5:00 & 7:00 on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at the Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home of Kahoka. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association or to the National Kidney Foundation.
