JULIA C. BUSCHLING
Julia C. Buschling, age 58, of rural Canton, MO, passed away on Friday morning, March 27, 2015 following a battle with cancer, at her home lovingly in the care of her family.
Julie was born July 26, 1956 in Keokuk, IA, a daughter of Frank and Bertie Powers Rose.
On March 6, 1976, she was united in marriage to Steven Buschling in Keokuk.
Survivors include her husband, Steven, of the home; two children: Heather (Mrs. Jeff) Brand of Sahuarita, AZ and Joshua Buschling and his fiancé, Megan Boddeker of Keokuk, IA; five grandchildren: Isabel and Annette Brand and Gabrielle, Madison and Jaxon Buschling; two brothers: Gary (Claudia) Rose of Keokuk, IA, and Jay Rose of Burleson, TX; two sisters,Diana Miler of Chariton, IA and Cheryl (Mrs. George) Harrison of Argyle, IA; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law: William Buschling of Kansas City, MO and Michelle and Garyl Meinhardt of Kahoka, MO; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Bertie; her in-laws, Allen and Nettie Buschling; one brother, Dennis Rose; and brother-in-law, Bill Miler.
Julie was a 1974 graduate of Keokuk High School and attended Southeast Iowa Community College in Keokuk. She was a former employee of Clark County, MO, working in the Sheriff's Department and serving as Clark County Treasurer. She also worked a number of years for Logsdon Elevator. Since 1999, she has been employed at Allied Blending in Keokuk. She loved to work and to help people in whatever capacity she could.
Julie was a member of the First Christian Church in Keokuk. She loved volunteering at the church preschool and being around children. She also loved to be around people and greet them with her contagious smile. She especially loved zumba with her friends. She also enjoyed crocheting and making blankets for her grandchildren.
Julie's first love was her family. She was devoted to her grandchildren and it was her joy to spend time at their school activities, create craft projects with them, and take them swimming and bike riding. She worked hard to show each one how much they were loved by her.
Visitation was held at the First Christian Church in Keokuk, IA on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from 2 - 4 p.m. A Memorial Service was held directly following at 4 p.m. with Pastor David Turner officiating.
Memorials in lieu of flowers were suggested to the family or "Russell and Ann Gerdin American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, Iowa City".
The family was assisted by Wilson Funeral Home.
