JUSTIN LANE CHRISTY

Justin Lane Christy, age 20, of Argyle, IA, died early Saturday, May 14, 2005 in an automobile accident near Argyle.

He was born March 22, 1985 at Keokuk, IA, a son of Terry and Joyce Toops Christy.

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Joyce and Robert Nye of Argyle, IA; father, Terry Christy of Kahoka, MO; step-mother, Michelle Christy of Canton, MO; brother, Michael Christy of Keokuk, IA; twin sister, Lindsey Christy of Keokuk, IA; two half brothers, Robert Nye, Jr. and his wife, K C, of Palestine, TX and Trey Christy of Canton, MO; a half sister, Brittany Christy of Canton, MO; one step sister, Jennifer Novak of Fort Madison, IA; two step brothers, Chris and Michael Novak of Fort Madison, IA; two nieces, Alysa Day of Keokuk, IA and Alayna Nye of Palestine, TX; grand-parents: Mary Toops of St. Francisville, MO, Leroy and Wyrene Christy of Revere, MO, and Belva Skinner of Argyle, IA; aunts and uncles: Brenda White of Montrose, IA, Tom and Angie Toops of St. Francisville, MO, Mark and Ellen Toops of Montrose, IA, Jerry Derr of Argyle, IA, Alice Rhea of Kahoka, MO, Clayton and Kelli Christy of Revere, MO, Dena Christy of Revere, MO, Fred and Bev Christy of Revere, MO, Danny and Mary Boone of Argyle, IA, Gary and Janel Nye of Fort Madison, IA, and Devin and Kylene Juel of Argyle, IA; as well as great aunts and uncles and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, George "Bud" Toops; uncle, Gary Toops; aunt, Dianna Derr; and great grandparents, Tom and Violet Toops and Ralph and Frances LeMaster.

Justin was a 2004 graduate of Central Lee High School. He was serving in the Iowa National Guard, had completed basic training in November and was scheduled to be deployed to Iraq this coming summer as a member of Co. A, 224th Engineer Battalion of the Iowa National Guard. He was currently employed at Wal-Mart in Keokuk, IA.

Justin loved to fish. He also loved music, and was a talented artist. His car was his pride and joy and he was an excellent mechanic. Even as a young child he had a knack for taking things apart to see how they worked. Most important, he loved people and loved to make them laugh. His family was special to him and he was proud to be of service to his country.

Funeral services are Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Rev. Dan Deatrick officiating. Burial with full military rites by Iowa Army National Guard will be in Sand Cemetery at St. Francisville, MO.

Family will greet friends Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until time of services at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka. There will be no other visitation. Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to Co. A 224th Engineer Battalion Family Readiness Group.
