KENNETH E. LIPPER
Kenneth E. Lipper, age 76, of Kahoka, MO, died Wednesday, October 19, 2005 in Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
He was born July 5, 1929 at Wyaconda, MO, a son of Lester and Millie Billings Lipper.
He and Mary E. Evermon were united in marriage on August 25, 1950 at Kahoka, MO in the Christian Church parsonage.
Survivor include his beloved wife of 55 years, Mary, also of Kahoka; three sons, Dennis Lipper of Columbia, MO, Randy Lipper and his wife, Debbie, of Revere, MO, and, Carroll Lipper of Kahoka, MO; one daughter, Becky Hopp, of Kahoka, MO; eleven grandchildren: Shana and Tom Lindsey of Urbana, MO, Jason Hopp of Wayland, MO, Misty Howell of Kahoka, MO, Shane Brakefield of Gillan, MO, Heather and Scott Bethards of Leighton, IA, Stephanie and Matt Kirchner of Alexandria, MO, Amy Lipper of Quincy, IL and her boyfriend, Jesse Heimer of Taylor, MO, Miranda Lipper and her fiancé, Brent Goings, of Canton, MO, Heidi Lipper of Kahoka, MO and her fiancé, Dustin Elder, serving in Iraq, and, Kenneth W. "Bill" Lipper and Holly Lipper, both of Kahoka, MO; twelve great grandchildren: Jordan Lipper-Green, McKenzie and Riley Green, Ashley, Jarret, Blain, and Shane Lindsey, Jewel Hopp, Rebecca Brakefield, Hunter and Cole Kirchner, and Leyton Bethards; one brother, William Clayton "Bobby" Lipper and his wife, Carol, of Sperry, IA; two sisters, Twila Elder and her husband, James, of Mediapolis, IA, and, Willa Merle Bronstine and her husband, Virgil, of Canton, MO; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Bessie Lipper of Hamilton, IL, Marjorie Lipper of Montrose, IA, Mildred Lipper of Burlington, IA, George Evermon of Wyaconda, MO, Howard and Gerry Evermon of Kahoka, MO, Ernest and Leta Evermon of Hamilton, IL, Vera Mae Shuler of Quincy, IL, Frances Gregory of Fort Madison, IA, Beulah and Joe Dobson of Montrose, IA, Betty Fox of Revere, MO, Laura and Harold Webber of Unionville, MO, and Zola Marie Brammer of Kahoka, MO; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Raymond, Dean, and Delbert Lipper; three sisters, Diena Stutz, Delila Evermon, and Nelda Mae Overhulser; a son-in-law, Keith Hopp; and, grandson, Brent Lipper.
Kenneth farmed for Ralph Plenge prior to his marriage and then went to work for the former Dryden's in Keokuk, retiring in 1991 after 40 years. He also did carpentry work for a number of years.
He was baptized into the membership of the Kahoka Christian Church. He loved to visit with friends, family, and neighbors and play horseshoes and cards. He was a John Wayne fan and enjoyed watching television, particularly Sanford and Son and Bonanza. He also loved spending time with family and camping.
Funeral services are Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 10 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor Shawn McAfee officiating.
Burial will be in Kahoka Cemetery.
Friends can call after 11 a.m. Friday at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Clark Co. Local Cancer Fund or to the family.
