Larry L. McColm
Larry L. McColm, age 70, of Kahoka, MO, died Thursday, December 13, 2007, at the Clark Co. Nursing Home in Kahoka.
He was born June 25, 1937, at Bedford, IA, a son of Howard and Vada Huss McColm.
He and Joyce K. Butler were united in marriage on January 28, 1963, at his parent's farm in Granger.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of the home; one son, Michael McColm, of Kahoka; a daughter, Pamela Britton and her husband, Douglas, of Kahoka; three grandchildren, Tiffiny Toops of Columbia, MO, Steven Toops and his wife, Alisha, of Donnellson, and Kelsey Britton of Kahoka; one great-grandchild, Willow Toops of Donnellson; one brother, Lewis Sherman McColm and his wife, Dawila, of Ludlow, MO; a sister, Joreen Cole and her husband, Jerry,
of Richmond, MO; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Neva Delphene Yates of Kahoka, Norman and Shirley Butler of Kahoka, Sylvia Butler of Kahoka, and Roger Carroll and Jeanette Butler of Alexandria; an aunt, Lola Perdew, of Bedford, IA; as well as nieces and nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Larry attended school in Bedord, IA. He was retired from Fruehauf where he was also a member of the United Auto Workers # 1492. He was a member of the Luray Baptist Church.
He loved the outdoors whether he was fishing, hunting, picking berries or hunting for mushrooms. He also enjoyed doing wood working and making knives, which were just a couple of his hobbies. He carved a path of love for his family with his gentle touch and the encouragement and devotion he provided.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 15, 2007, at 1:30 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor Dan Steinbeck officiating. Burial was in the Combs Cemetery at Luray.
Memorials were suggested to the family.
