LARRY RAY
Larry Ray, age 60, of Luray, MO, died unexpectedly Saturday, June 21, 2008, in the emergency room of Keokuk Area Hospital.
He was born April 14, 1948, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Billy D. and Betty Davis Ray.
On October 12, 1968, he was united in marriage to Jeannie Adamson at Mt. Sterling, IA.
Survivors include his wife, Jeannie, of Luray, MO; his parents, Billy and Betty Ray of
Luray, MO; two sons, Dusty and Carla Ray and Rusty and Nicole Ray of Luray, MO; one daughter, Tyann Jury and Dave Bentler of Fort Madison, IA; fifteen grandchildren: Audrey McKinney, Trevor and Wyatt Ray, Tyler and Dillian Brammer, Dakota, Jayvin, and
Ashlyn Ray, D. J. and Robbie Anderson, Dalanie and Cohyn Jury, Derek and Evan Wooten, and Tianna Summage; a sister, Sharon Hopp of Kahoka, MO; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Larry and Nancy Adamson, Terry Ray, and Mary Dieterich, all of Kahoka, MO, and Carl and Janet Adamson of Fairfield, IA; special friends: Gary Smith, Charlie Hopp, Wendy Ray, and Stuart Jury; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Jerry Ray.
Larry graduated from Kahoka High School in 1966 and began working at Henniges (the former Drydens) in Keokuk where he became ill early on the morning of his death. He enjoyed being outdoors, riding four-wheelers, hunting with his children and grandchildren and messing with horses. His family and friends were the most important thing in his life and he loved being with them.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor Shawn McAfee officiating. Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery.
Visitation was held at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka after 11 a.m. on Monday with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial in his honor to be established at a later date.
