LAWERENCE "LARRY" MACK
Lawerence "Larry" Mack, age 67, of Wayland, MO, died Monday, October 25, 2004 in Veterans Administration Hospital in Iowa City, IA.
He was born September 15, 1937 at Villisca, IA, a son of Carl and Effie Maxine Higgins Mack.
On September 22, 1956, he was united in marriage to Lillian Frady in West Palm Beach, FL.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian, of Wayland, MO; one son, Lawerence "Larry" Mack, Jr. and his wife, Tammy, of Kahoka, MO; four daughters: Debbie Lowery and her husband, David, of Kahoka, MO, Marion Lane and her husband, Tom, of Riverview, FL, Patty Daley of Kahoka, MO and Martha Irvin and her husband, Jeff, of Kahoka, MO; two brothers, Orville Mack and his wife, Rose,of Kahoka and Marvin Mack and his wife, Marlene, of Wayland; aunts and uncle, James and Betty Higgins of Fort Madison, IA and Opal Brown of Tacna, AZ; 15 grandchildren;
three great grandchildren; as well as other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Robert Frady.
Larry graduated from Fort Madison High School and received additional education in Georgia and at Southeastern Community College in Keokuk. He was a U. S. Airforce Veteran and a member and advocate of the Disabled Veterans of America.
He had operated a cross country semi business until retiring in the mid 1990's due to ill health. During that time he had been active in the "Truckers for Christ" and had planned to start his own truck stop ministry.
He was a member and Assistant Pastor of Anchor of Hope Fellowship in Keokuk and was very involved in its ministry. In his spare time he had enjoyed working in his garden. He was very family oriented and devoted to his children and grandchildren, however, his anchor was Jesus Christ and he wanted everyone to know of the importance of salvation through him.
Funeral services are Thursday, October 28, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Brother John Varner officiating. Burial will be in Bonaparte Cemetery.
Friends can call after 10 a.m. on Wednesday with family receiving friends 6-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home.
