Lee Lemmon

Lee Lemmon, 80, of Williamstown, Missouri, passed away peacefully at 6:42 am, on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Scotland County Hospital with his loving family by his side. 

Lee was born on May 24, 1943 to Edwin and Letha (Tweed) Lemmon in Williamstown, Mo. He married Mary Ann (Robertson) Lemmon on June 14, 1970 in Wyaconda, Mo., and she survives. Lee was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church and served as a deacon of the church.  Lee graduated from Williamstown High School in 1961, he then furthered his education and attended Hannibal LaGrange College and the University of Missouri completing his Bachelor’s degree in education.  He began his teaching degree at the Clark County R-1 High School as an instructor of Biology and General Science.  He then received his Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling from Northeast Missouri State teacher’s college.  In 1973 Lee was the Principal at Blackhawk Grade school until he retired in 2001. Lee served as a Board member for the Clark Co Water District and for the Lewis Co Fair. Lee was a farmer at heart, he enjoyed his black angus cows, attending the fairs that his children were involved in and later his grandchildren.  Most of all he loved his family enjoyed family gatherings and making memories on the farm. 

Lee is survived by his wife Ann, 2 sons: Mark (Kellie) Lemmon of Williamstown, Mo., Micheal Lemmon of Ashmore, Il., 1 brother-in-law: Roger Nelson of Palmyra, Mo., 3 grandchildren: Elizabeth (Kory) Zeigler, David (Emma Nelson) Lemmon and Cole Lemmon,1 great grandson: Waylon Zeigler, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Lavon Nelson.

Funeral Services for Lee Lemmon will be held Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Liberty Baptist Church Williamstown, Mo. Burial at the Liberty Baptist Cemetery.  Pastor Lonnie Nelson will officiate. Visitation will be held at the Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home with family present from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, February 7, 2024. Memorial contributions in memory of Lee Lemmon are suggested to Clark County Fair Livestock Committee, Lewis County Fair for Show Ring and improvements or to the Blackhawk School.
