LENNA F. JANSEN

Lenna Fern Jansen, age 95, of Kahoka, MO, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at the Clark Co. Nursing Home in Kahoka.

Lenna was born February 11, 1919 at Granger, MO, a child of Wyatt and Iva L. Lipper Watson.

On August 10, 1936 she was united in marriage to Scott Louie Jansen in Edina, MO. He preceded her in death on May 16, 1976.

Survivors include her daughter, Naomi Fern Lane of Kahoka, MO; one grandchild, Mary Vaye Lane of Caseyville, IL; three great grandchildren and their families: Scott Lane of Burlington, IA, Eugene Lane of Montrose, IA, and Megan Mast of Palmyra, MO; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Sylvia Huett and Anna Belle Brookhart; and two grandsons, Michael Ray Lane and David Scott.

Lenna graduated from Granger High School and received her license in cosmetology at Kirksville.

Following her marriage, she worked side by side with her husband on their farm in addition to raising chickens and caring for the cattle when needed. She worked hard all of her life and later went to work at Drydens in Keokuk for a number of years and when they moved to Luray, she opened her own beauty shop.

Lenna was a former Ladies Aid leader at the Arbela Methodist Church and had attended the Christian Church at Memphis. She was a 4H Leader and enjoyed crafts of all kinds, sharing these talents by helping others.

Memorial services were held Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Kahoka Senior Housing Community Bldg. with Brother Jack Sumption officiating. Private burial was held in the Kahoka Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society (Clark Co. Nursing Home Relay for Life Team).

The family is being served by Wilson Funeral Home.
