LESTER C. KIRCHNER
Lester C. Kirchner, age 84, of rural Kahoka, MO, passed away Monday, April 18, 2005 at his home.
He was born March 31, 1921 in Clark County, MO, a son of Theo and Theresa Renner Kirchner.
He and Dorothy Ida Otte were married October 29, 1941 at St. Michael's Parsonage in Kahoka.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, of Kahoka, MO; two sons, Gary and Gretchen Kirchner and Kent and Rhonda Kirchner, all of Kahoka, MO; two daughters, Violet and Jerome Hattemar of Quincy, IL and Connie and Don French of Aurora, CO; one sister, Hilda A and Edward Schutte of Augusta, IL; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Evelyn Uhlmeyer and Marilyn Otte, both of Kahoka, MO, Chester and Helen Otte of Hannibal, MO, and Robert and Mary Ann Otte of Canton, MO; sixteen grandchildren: Tim and Donna Hattemar Derhake and Daniel and Jeannie Hattemar, all of Quincy, IL, Patrick and Ronda Kirchner of Memphis, MO, Bill and Dawn Kirchner LeMaster of St. Charles, MO, Matt and Tassie Kirchner Dienst of O'Fallon, MO, Leslie Kirchner of St. Louis, MO, Dustin and Tammy Kirchner of Kahoka, MO, Matt and Stephene Kirchner of Alexandria, MO, Kassy Kirchner and Erik Kirchner, both of Kahoka, MO, Brice and Jennifer Hollender of Roy, UT, Lisa Hollender of Thornton, CO, Aaron Mathies of Camp Lejeune, NC (USMC), and Alyson, Alanna, and Anna Kirchner, all of Kahoka, MO; 22 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Lester E. "Gene" Kirchner; a brother and his wife, Howard and Lorene Kirchner; two sisters, Ida Mae Stutz and her husband, Paul, and Clara Kirchner; and brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, John Uhlmeyer, Junior Otte, and Irene and Roy Smith.
Lester attended GEM school south of Kahoka. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of Ayer-Boatman Post # 4342, V.F.W. He was also a long-time member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka.
Lester was a life-long farmer. He loved farming, being out of doors, and hunting and fishing. He also loved playing cards and visiting with friends. More than anything, he loved being with his family.
Funeral services are Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka with Pastor Natie Frazee officiating and Mr. Dean Hunziker, eulogist.
Burial will be in Kahoka Cemetery.
Friends can call at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka after noon on Tuesday with family receiving friends 6-8 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to Blessing Hospice.
