LLOYD R. "TAD" THOMAS

Lloyd R. "Tad" Thomas, age 61, of Kahoka, MO, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

He was born May 13, 1945, in LaHarpe, IL, and had been married to Shirley Wood who preceded him in death in 1996. He had children by two previous marriages.

Survivors include four children: James "Nub" Thomas and his wife, Valerie, of Lewistown, IL, Lloyd R. "Rusty" Thomas, III of Havana, IL, Rachel "Sis" James and her husband, Randy, of Luray, MO, and Floyd "Russell" Thomas and his wife, Teresa, of Buckeye, AZ; eight grandchildren: Christopher, Dakota and Cody Thomas all of Lewistown, IL,

Jim Thomas and Shawna Thomas of Havana, IL, Kurtis Russell of Buckeye, AZ, Kristin Russell of Luray, MO, and, Bobby Thomas of Green Forest, AR; a sister, Sharon Wheatley and her husband, Gene, of Burnside, IL; as well as several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, step-children and grandchildren; and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father; his wife; two brothers; and, a sister.

Lloyd was raised and educated in McDonough County, IL. He was a mechanic all of his

life and although he could repair anything, his expertise was in Allis Chalmers and other farm

implements as well as heavy equipment. He ran a machine shop at his home and had worked previously for Rural Equipment of Macomb and Wiss and Wiss of Kahoka.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kahoka and enjoyed the fellowship of his Sunday School class. He was also a member of A. A. He enjoyed listening to Paul Harvey, anything Ford and Allis Chalmers, and most of all being with his children and grandchildren. He never had an enemy and would do anything for anybody.

Funeral services are Sunday, February 25, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor Mark Boley officiating. Burial will follow in the Kahoka Cemetery.

Friends can call at Wilson Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Saturday with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m.
