Lois was a 1941 graduate of Revere High School. She was a member of the Kahoka Christian Church, the 50-50 Sunday School Class, and the Christian Women's Fellowship. She loved taking care of her church and young people. She had helped Roscoe many years with his custom bulldozing business. Lois was well known for her cake baking and cooking, and following Roscoe's death, had worked at several restaurants in Kahoka and recently at the sale barn. She also helped her daughter-in-law, Karen, at Kahokaland Video. She loved being outdoors, tending a big garden large enough to feed the entire family and many friends, taking care of her lawn, fishing and mushroom hunting. She made it a tradition of having a family dinner with the bounty of the mushroom hunt and "made do" if the pickings were slim. She also enjoyed visiting friends in Arizona. More than anything, she cherished her family and was most happy when caring for them.
