Lola Lavern Arehart Hatfield, age 98, of Granbury, TX, formerly of Wyaconda, MO, died Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at her home in Granbury.
She was born April 28, 1918, near Arbela, MO, a daughter of Raymond and Olive Carter Arehart.
At the age of 3, the family moved to Rutledge, MO, where she attended school. She later worked in the dietary department of St. Joseph Hospital in Keokuk, IA. She was also a substitute teacher.
On March 17, 1937, she married Mason Hatfield. To this union one daughter was born.
Lavern accepted Christ at the Millport Christian Church, later transferring her membership to the Wyaconda Christian Church. She was a faithful member and taught a Sunday school class for approximately 50 years.
Survivors include her daughter, Dixie Benge and her husband Jimmy, of Granbury, TX; a grandson, David Benge and wife Lynn of Granbury, TX; four great-grandchildren: Danny, Marissa, Patricia and Samantha Benge; six great-great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters and three brothers.
