Loretta Lynn "Lori" Moots, age 57, of Medill, MO, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 28, 2007, at University Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Lori was born December 6, 1949, to Buford and Hazel Hartley Frye at Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua, WI. She was the 4th of eight children.
She attended LaFarge Schools and completed the last two years at Beloit High School, graduating in 1968. On September 28, 1974, Lori married Thomas R. Moots at the Church of Christ in Ancona, IL. To this union they had a beautiful daughter, Heather Jane
Moots. She also had a stepson, Thomas Moots II, and a step grandson, Thomas Moots III.
Lori enjoyed being a mother. She volunteered at the Clark Co. Nursing Home in Kahoka. Being a cancer survivor, Lori collected money for the American Cancer Society. She also was a member of the Luray Baptist church. She enjoyed Gospel, Country, Oldies, and 60's music. She also enjoyed crocheting and painting ceramics. In the 70's, Lori vacationed in Italy. She looked forward to trips to Wisconsin to spend time with her family.
Lori is survived by her husband, Tom Moots, of Medill, MO; her daughter, Heather Moots and Nick Inman, of Columbia, MO; a step-grandson, Thomas Moots, III of Queen City, MO; her father, Buford Frye and stepmother, Lu, of LaFarge, WI; two sisters, Lola Frye and friend, David Campbell, of Onalaska, WI and Lona (Delbert) Hess of Beloit, WI; three brothers: Larry (Merna) Frye of Blue River, WI, Buford "Buzz" (Jean) Frye of Beloit, WI, and Kevin (Denise) Frye of Janesville, WI; brother-in-law, Jack Moots of Gibbs, MO; sisters-in-law: Joyce Barber and Sue Parsons, both of Kirksville, MO, and Marie Moots of Gibbs, MO; also, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Frye; a sister, Linda Visgar; a brother,
Duane Frye; a step-son, Thomas Moots, II; also her father in-law and mother-in-law, Jess Owen and Rosalie Moots.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at 1 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastors Mark Boley and Mark Lowman officiating. Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery.
Memorials were suggested to the Clark Co. Nursing Home Activity Fund.
