Luke Brown

Luke A. Brown, 19, of Wyaconda, passed away unexpectedly at 1:09 pm on Friday, June 9, 2023, in Wyaconda.

 

He was born on August 18, 2003, in Memphis, the son of Jennifer & Doug Folker. Luke attended Clark County R1 High School, graduating in 2022. After graduation, he attended trade school in Wisconsin with a focus on Heavy equipment operation and directional boring. At the time of Luke’s passing, he was employed by Prairieland FS in Memphis in several capacities, including a position as applicator.

 

Luke enjoyed the outdoors and the many activities that it offered. You could find him out hunting, herding cattle & sheep, helping on the farm, working with wood and shooting trap. He was a member of the FFA, Fox River Clovers, Clark & Van Buren County trap teams and the Laplander Pulling Association. Luke enjoyed demolition derbies and tractor pulls. In his younger years, he participated in several pedal tractor pulls. He loved to spend time with his family and girlfriend Gracie Rehmert. Luke loved to cook food and experiment with new recipes, all of which he prepared for his friends and family members.

 

In addition to his parents; Jennifer & Doug Folker of Revere, Luke is survived by his grandparents; John & Brenda Steele of Wyaconda, Donna Folker of Bonaparte, Iowa, Jim (Roxie) Folker of Revere, Denise Brown of Luray, great grandfather; Robert Smith of Luray, several aunts and uncles including Jason (Olivia) Steele of Wyaconda and Jason (Bambi) Brown of Kahoka, his girlfriend; Gracie Rehmert of Belle, many cousins including Jackson & Hannah Steele and Klayden & Kacen Brown, his dog Daisy and by numerous friends. Luke was preceded in death by his great grandparents; Jim & Twila Elder, Betty Jo Smith and by an uncle; Dennis Perry.

 

Funeral services honoring Luke’s life will be conducted at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at the Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home of Kahoka. Pastor Shawn McAfee will officiate. Interment will follow at the Christy Cemetery in rural Revere. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at the funeral home.
