MARGARET E. ALLEN

A memorial service for Margaret Elizabeth Allen was held 10:00 a.m., Sat., Dec. 4th, 2010 at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Kahoka, followed by interment at Kahoka City Cemetery. Margaret passed away Sat., Nov. 27th, 2010. She was 77.

Born in Kahoka, on Feb. 12, 1933 to Gurden C. and Ada B. (Evermon) Allen, Margaret grew up and received her education in Kahoka. Raised on a farm, she carried a love of animals throughout her life. She was employed as a nurse aide and especially liked working with the babies in pediatrics. In her free time she enjoyed embroidery.

In 1998, Margaret moved to Claremore, OK. In recent years she made her home at Wood Manor Nursing Center there.

Margaret is survived by her children, Brenda Williams and husband, Terry, of Chouteau, OK, and Mark Allen of Blue Springs, MO; grandchildren Sarah Evans and husband, Nathan of Tulsa and Johnathon Williams and wife, Kristin of Pryor; great grandchildren, Zachary Evans and Carter Williams; sisters, Patricia Martin and husband, Paul, of Blue Springs, Judy Gutting of Carthage, IL; brothers, Robert Allen and wife, Virginia, and Charlie Allen and wife, Gloria, all of Kahoka and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and four brothers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Margaret's name be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004.
