Margaret I. Ranck, age 86, of Kahoka, MO, formerly of the West Point, IA, area, died

Thursday, November 9, 2006, at the Clark Co. Nursing Home in Kahoka.

She was born November 16, 1919, at Kahoka, a daughter of Cecil and Alma Gram Denham.

She married Alvin R. Ranck on June 6, 1941, and they were the parents of five children.

Survivors include four sons, Richard Ranck of Burlington, IA, Robert (Diane) Ranck of West Point, IA, Raymond (Julie) Ranck of Burlington, IA and Ronald Ranck also of Burlington, IA; one daughter, Rebecca (Ted) Levering of Sydney, OH; one sister, Eunice (Harlan) Buford of Kahoka, MO; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Henry Wendling, Betty Denham, and Ruth Denham, all of Kahoka, MO, and Ethyl Ranck of New London, IA; eleven grandchildren: Darin Ranck of Burlington, IA, Paula Hoenig of Fort Madison, IA, Steven Ranck and Craig Ranck, both of Burlington, IA, Richie Ranck of Mediapolis, IA, Marc Ranck of Burlington, IA, Bob Ranck of Sperry, IA, Stacy King of Des Moines, IA, Jeremy Ranck of Iowa City, IA, and, Tina Thobe and Jason Levering, both of Sydney, OH; six great-grandchildren: Dustin Ranck, Dylan and Meagan Hoenig, Morgan Arrington, and Lane and Allison Ranck; as well as nieces and nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: William, Gerald and Eugene

Denham; and two sisters, Laverne Gram and Lois Wendling.

Margaret graduated from Kahoka High School and was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka, the former women's fellowship, and the chancel choir. Some of her jobs had included the White House Creamery in West Point and New London and the Mt. Pleasant Health Center where she was a cook. Later she worked at the former D & H in Kahoka and as a substitute cook at the Clark Co. R-1 Schools. She also had baby sat for her great nieces and nephews, Britni, Bradi, Brenna and Brian Buford, who loved her as if she were their own grandmother.

Margaret was an excellent cook and loved to raise a big garden and can. She also loved to care for flowers and craft sequin calendars for family and friends. Music was also a very important part of her life as well as her family.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 13, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka with Rev. Kenneth Beckmann officiating. Burial will follow in Kahoka Cemetery.

Friends can call at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka after 4 p.m. on Sunday with family

receiving friends from 6-8 p.m.
