MARGUERITE M. BARRY
Marguerite Mae Barry, age 94, of Kahoka, MO, died Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at the Clark Co. Nursing Home in Kahoka where she had made her home the past five years.
She was born December 30, 1910 in Clark County, MO, near Revere, a daughter of Arthur and Dollie Rosencrans Parsons.
On September 11, 1931, she was united in marriage to Carson Harold Barry in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on October 15, 1989.
Survivors include thirteen children: Margaret Byer and her husband, Max, of Kahoka, MO, Betty Logsdon and her husband, Tom, of Kahoka, MO, Dean Barry and his wife, Jan,of Clark, MO, Art Barry and his wife, Marilyn, of Titusville, FL, Ronald Barry and his wife, Nancy, of Canton, MO, Donald Barry and his wife, Janice, of Wayland, MO, Floyd Barry and his wife, April, of Concho, AZ, Vernon Barry and his wife, Carol, of Davenport, IA, Dorothea Hunziker and her husband, Dean, of Kahoka, MO, John Barry and his wife, Sharon, of Keokuk, IA, Barbara Parrish and her husband, Wesley, of Kahoka, MO, Connie Watson and her husband, Gary, of Fredericktown, MO, and Patricia Higgins and her husband, Bob, of Broken Arrow, OK;
a sister, Alberta Gardner of Kahoka, MO; sisters-in-law, Alice Parsons of Kahoka, MO, Frances Egan and her husband, Jim, of Ventura, CA, and Juanita Parsons of Columbus, GA; 54 grand-children; 85 great grandchildren; and, 10 great-great grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, David; a grandson, Mike Barry; a sister-in-law and her very best friend, Dorothy Morris; two sons-in-law, Donald Lunt and Dewey Soper; a daughter-in-law, Carol Barry; and, siblings, Nola Parsons, Raleigh
Parsons, Hilborn Parsons, Leo Parsons, Ed Parsons, Joe Parsons, Vernon Parsons, Ray Parsons, and Millie Hafferman.
Marguerite was raised in the Baptist faith and attended the Wayland United Methodist Church in later years. She was a member of the Helping Hand Extension Club and formerly of Royal Neighbors of America. Her life revolved around her life as a farm wife and mother. In addition to raising her children, she also took in foster children whom she loved dearly. She was an avid quilter and made quilts for all of her family. She was also an excellent seamstress and enjoyed embroidering. She loved to garden and cook for friends and family and made sure no one ever left her home empty handed. Above all else, she loved each and every one of her children and their families and was always willing to help out as a babysitter.
Friends are invited to a celebration of her life on Saturday, November 12, 2005 at 10 a.m. at the Wayland United Methodist Church with Rev. Deborah Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow in Kahoka Cemetery.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. Friday at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Clark Co. Nursing Home Activity Fund.
