MARLYS D. GUTTING
Marlys Darlene Suter Gutting, age 75, of Kahoka, MO, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at the Clark Co. Nursing Home in Kahoka.
She was born May 4, 1931, the only child of Richard and Gladys Carder Suter, on a farm in Wyaconda, MO. She attended the Wyaconda school, graduating from Wyaconda High School in 1949. Following graduation she worked at Graham Hospital in Keokuk, IA as a nurses aide.
On December 23, 1950, she married William M. Gutting of Kahoka at the home of Rev. Golden. To this union one child was born, Michael William.
She and Bill spent the next five years in Shelbina, MO, returning to Kahoka in the fall of 1957 where they established the family business, Kahoka Motor Co.
Marlys was a homemaker. She enjoyed her family and friends. She loved animals of all kinds, especially dogs. She had a dog as a pet for most of her life.
Survivors include her son, Mike Gutting and his wife, Connie, of Kahoka; her grand-
children: Tara and Scott Schulte of Cleveland, OH, Matthew and Erin Gutting of Kahoka, MO and Krystol Gutting of St. Louis, MO; three great-grandchildren: Logan, Landon and Lauren Gutting; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Guy and Beverly Barrows of Revere, MO and Bill and Joanne Ragan of Kahoka, MO; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, in 1981; her parents, Gladys and Richard Suter in 1987; her father-in-law, Clell Gutting in 1983, and her mother-in-law, Mary Gutting in 2004.
Funeral services are Saturday, September 16, 2006 at 10 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Dr. Rick Seaton officiating. Burial will be in Kahoka Cemetery.
Friends can call at Wilson Funeral Home after 10 a.m. Friday with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to Blessing Hospice (Hancock Co.) or the Clark Co. Local Cancer Fund.
