MARY LOU ASH
Mary Lou Ash, age 78, of rural Kahoka, MO, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 22, 2007, at her home south of Kahoka.
She was born May 4, 1929 at Maynard, IA, a daughter of Thomas Henry and Veleria Rich Coop.
She married Elmer C. Ash on May 15, 1949, at Kahoka. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1984.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Katherine Ash, of Kahoka, MO; a step-sister, Bonnie Gibson of Illinois; two half brothers, Edward and Joseph Coop, both of Florida; a half sister, Marilyn Jones of Iowa; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Virgil Rich; two half brothers, Robert and Richard Coop; and a step sister, Virginia Berry.
Mary attended Wayland High School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wayland and was a former employee of the Clark Co.Nursing Home and Carla and Kenney Ball and Ball GMC. She enjoyed working out doors gardening and growing flowers. She also loved to crochet, sew and read. Her dog, Sam, was very special to her.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 25, 2007, at 2:30 p.m. in the Union Cemetery south of Kahoka, with Rev. Dan Deatrick officiating.
Friends can call after 11 a.m. Saturday at Wilson Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. at which time the procession will leave for the cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family.
