MARY E. JENKINS

Mary E. Jenkins, age 92, of LaHarpe, IL, formerly of Kahoka, MO, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2005 in LaHarpe.

She was born April 17, 1912 at Kahoka, MO, a daughter of Samuel and Julia Gehin Arnold.

Mary graduated from Kahoka High School in 1930. She married Carl Jenkins, also of Luray, on September 21, 1932 to whom she was married for nearly 70 years.

Survivors include her two daughters: Connie Williams and her husband, Larry, of LaHarpe, IL, and Beverly Gerken of Cape Girardeau, MO; five grand-children: Tammy Randolph of Cape Girardeau, MO, Mike Kugler and his wife, Handan, of Branson, MO, Dean Kugler and his wife, Mary Beth, of Davenport, IA, Gregg Kugler and his wife, Cathy, of Kansas City, MO, and Darci Dickerson and her husband, Larry, of Andalusia, IL; eleven great grandchildren; a brother, Sammy Arnold and his wife, Della, of Kahoka, MO; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Roscoe Arnold; two sisters, Bernice Neuendorf and Georgie Nichols; and, two grandchildren, Randy Kim Miller and Robbie Kugler.

She was a gentle soul who enjoyed her time cooking for the students of Luray Schools and many, many dear friends and family over the years. After retiring from dairy farming in Luray, Mary and Carl moved to Kahoka where they spent most of their time with friends and family. Mary was a beloved member of First Baptist Church of Kahoka. She always thought of her friends and family first. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting. Although we will miss her dearly, we are assured Carl is glad she is finally with him.

Funeral services are Monday, March 21, 2005 at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Kahoka with Dr. Rick Seaton and Rev. Gregg Pratt officiating.

Burial will be in Kahoka Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. Monday until time of services at First Baptist Church in Kahoka.

Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church of Kahoka or Kahoka Cemetery.
