Mary F Toops

Mary F. Toops, 88, of St. Francisville, MO, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2023, surrounded by her family at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.  Mary was born on October 31, 1935, to William Ralph and Frances (Wilkins) LeMaster. Mary was united in marriage to George “Bud” Toops on May 14, 1954, in Wayland, MO, and he preceded her in death March 17, 2005.

Mary was a graduate of Wayland School in Wayland, MO. She was a member of the Methodist Church in St Francisville.  Mary was a Nurses -Aide for many years and enjoyed being able to help people.  Mary loved anything that had to do with nature from fishing, raising a huge garden, her flowers and watching her many hummingbirds.  She was known by her family and friends as the “Scrabble Queen”.   Mary would host as many family gatherings as she could and looked forward to her family coming.

Mary is survived by 2 sons; Mark (Ellen) Toops of Keokuk, IA, Tom (Angie) Toops of St. Francisville, Mo, 2 daughters; Brenda Meyer of Keokuk, IA, and Joyce Nye of Argyle, IA, 3 brothers; Kenneth (Janice) LeMaster of Revere, MO, William “Willie” (Mary) LeMaster of Florida, and Gary Joe LeMaster of Alexandria, MO, 1 sister; Janis Davis of Burlington, IA, 1 son-in-law; Jerry Derr of Argyle, IA, 10 Grandchildren, numerous Great and Great Great Grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 son; Gary Toops, 1 daughter; Dianna Derr, 4 grandchildren, and 8 siblings; Zella, Donald, Velma” Sip”, Leona, Tom, Harold and Barbara.

Funeral Services for Mary F. Toops will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home Kahoka, MO. Pastor Dan Deatrick will officiate.

Burial will follow at the Sand Cemetery in St Francisville, MO.

Visitation with family will be held Wednesday December 13, 2023, from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 at Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home.
