Mary Louise Martin, 98, of Kahoka, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Clark County Nursing Home with those who loved her by her side.
Mary was born on November 25, 1926, in Nanty Glo, Pennsylvania, to James Edward and Jennie Ellen (Beard) Hunter. Mary was a member of the Kahoka Methodist Church in Kahoka, Missouri, she also worked for different restaurants in the area as a cashier or waitress. Mary was such a giving person and had crocheted over 1, 682 dollies that were sent off all around the world. Going fishing was something Mary looked forward to, especially with her grandchildren and at that time would also share stories. To relax she watched westerns, especially Gunsmoke. Mary was always ready to celebrate her birthday and looked forward to it every year.
Mary is survived by her sons Daniel Martin of Kahoka, MO, Charles Martin of Ashland, MO, Bruce (Mary Kay) Martin of Mexico, MO, her daughters Patty (Mark) Rudge of Kahoka, MO, Pamela (Thomas) Koch of Lexington, IL, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Peggy, her sons Michael and Bruce, her long companion Howard Mitchell and 4 siblings.
Graveside services for Mary L Martin will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at the Kahoka Cemetery, Kahoka, Missouri. Words of Comfort by Patty Rudge. Visitation will be held at the Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home, Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 11:00 am until the time of graveside at 12:00 pm. Memorial contributions in memory of Mary Martin are suggested to the Kahoka Cemetery, and may be left at the Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home, Kahoka, MO.
