MARY ETTA FOUNTAIN MOSS
Mary Etta Fountain Moss, age 67, of Kahoka, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 1, 2008, in Kahoka.
She was born June 14, 1940 at Revere, MO, a daughter of Lester M. and Mary Evalena Cochenour Shaffer. She had been married to Raymond Fountain and they were the parents of Joe, Dawn and Fawn.
She later married Charles F. Moss in October of 2002. He preceded her in death on April 20, 2004.
Survivors include: one son, Joe Fountain of Kahoka; two daughters, Fawn Fountain of Memphis and Dawn Gutting and her husband, Ronnie, of Kahoka; three brothers: Dewayne Shaffer of Alexandria and Kent and Kevin Shaffer both of Kahoka; four sisters: Doris Hamberg of Kahoka, Donna (Jerry) Graham of Luray, Bonnie (Pearl) Sanders of Kahoka and Dixie (Steven) Bollin of Kahoka; two aunts, Doris Hines of Luray and Bertha McBride of Farmington; twelve grandchildren; five great grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, John Thirtyacre; and a brother, Delmar Lynn Shaffer.
Mary Etta attended Kahoka Public High School. She had also attended the First Baptist Church in Wayland was a former member of the V.F.W. and Clark Co. Moose. She retired from Shellor Globe in 1985 following a vehicle accident which caused her health to fail.
She enjoyed collecting bird houses and sitting in the coffee shops visiting with friends. Her greatest joy in life came from spending time with her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 6, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Rev. Dan Deatrick officiating. Burial will be in the Kahoka Cemetery.
Friends can call at Wilson Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Sunday with family receiving friends from 1 p.m. until time of services.
Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
