Mary Frances Toops

Mary Frances Toops (Stevenson) (83) passed away on November 28, 2022, in Dallas, Texas after a short illness.  

Mary was born October 1, 1939, to Winfield and Mary (Harkness) Stevenson in Kahoka, MO. Her father owned Stevenson Oil. She married Robert Nolan Toops in 1957 and they were married until his passing in 2010. 

Mary and Robert raised 5 children while farming in northeast Missouri and southeast Iowa.  In her later years, Mary kept busy as an Amish taxi driver. She loved to do crossword puzzles and read inspirational Christian novels. Her faith was very important to her, and she was an active member of the Glenwood Assembly of God in Glenwood, MO for many years. 

Mary is survived by her sons; Stan (Simone) of Seattle, Washington; Ted of Moulton, Iowa; Tim (Katherine) of Peosta, Iowa; David (Julie) of Dallas, Texas and a daughter, Mary Jo of New Braunfels, Texas; Grandchildren, Erik Toops of Dallas, Texas; Zach (Alexa) Toops of Frisco, Texas; Ashley (Steven) Amend of Cedar Park, Texas; Erika (Joe) Schneider of Dubuque, Iowa; Daniel Toops of Dubuque, Iowa, and Michael Toops (Melissa Peters) of Oskaloosa, Iowa; and 1 great-granddaughter, Charlotte. 

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, her parents, a sister, 2 nieces. 

Funeral services honoring Mary's life will be conducted at 1:00pm on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at the Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home of Kahoka.  Pastor Robin McCullar will officiate.  Interment will follow at Kahoka Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5pm - 7pm on Monday, December 5, 2022.
