MAXINE FOWLER

Dorothy Maxine Fowler, age 85, of Wayland, MO, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2005 in Keokuk Area Hospital, Keokuk, IA.

She was born February 16, 1919 at Wayland, MO, a daughter of Clyde E. and Nellie M. Johnson Boone.

She married John Roscoe Fowler on January 11, 1939. He preceded her in death on December 7, 1984.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Ann Cowen of Keokuk, IA; two sons, John Fowler of Gregory Landing, MO and Don Fowler and his wife Linda, of Wayland, MO; a sister, Della Radcliffe, of Keokuk, IA; nine grandchildren: Marie Rivera of Chicago, IL, Joyce Fowler of Kahoka, MO, Debbie Fowler of Burlingon, IA, Janet Cantonwine and her husband, Randy, of Donnellson, IA, Angela Callison of St. Francisville, MO, Trudy Stephenson and her husband, Curtis, of St. Francisville, MO, Denise Dixon and her husband, Ray, of Alexandria, MO, Cory Fowler and his wife, Lisa, of Kahoka, MO, and, Amanda Slater and her husband, Evan of Monet, MO; three step grandchildren: Joel Davis and Chris Davis, both of Oskaloosa, IA and Linette Davis of Fort Madison, IA; seventeen great grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Ernest Edward Fowler in 1949; a grandson, Jonathan DeForest; two brothers, Winfield and Richard Allen Boone; and a sister, Marguerite Petersen.

Maxine was a member of the Alexandria Presbyterian Church and the Lend A Hand Extension Club. She was a former Board Member of OATS and contact person at Wayland for many years. She had also been a correspondent for the Media. She had been a homemaker and had helped her husband in his commercial fishing business for many years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and crocheting.

Funeral services are Saturday, February 12, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Dr. David Castrodale officiating. Burial will be in Sand Cemetery at St. Francisville.

Friends can call between the hours of 9 and 5 on Friday at Wilson Funeral Home with family receiving friends Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services.

Memorials are suggested to the Clark Co. OATS or to the Alexandria Presbyterian Church.
