MORGAN COOPER MORRIS, JR.
Morgan Cooper Morris, Jr., age 88, of Wayland, MO, died Thursday, October 12, 2006 at the Clark Co. Nursing Home in Kahoka, MO.
He was born December 15, 1917 on the Cooper farm near Wayland, the son of Morgan Cooper and Harriet Martha Kearns Morris.
Survivors include a nephew, John M. O'Day and his wife, Chris, of Hutchinson, KS; two great nephews and their families, Sean C. O'Day and his wife, Louise, of Cardiff by the Sea, CA, and their children, Keighley and Sienna, and, Charles C. O'Day and his wife, Michelle, of Branson, MO, and their children, Madison and Shaylee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Betty Lou O'Day and her husband, Harold; a nephew, Charles H. O'Day; and, a niece, Peggy Lou O'Day.
"Coopie" graduated from Wayland High School and attended Culver Stockton College. He was an engineer with the Missouri Department of Transportation until his retirement and was a member of St. Francisville Lodge # 558, A.F. & A.M. Throughout his life, he had enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling.
Graveside services will be held Monday, October 16, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at the Kahoka Cemetery with burial following.
Friends can call after noon on Sunday with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. A public Masonic service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to the Kahoka Cemetery.
