NANCY L. KIRCHNER
Nancy L. Kirchner, age 76, of St. Patrick, MO, died at 12:20 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2006, in Blessing Hospital, Quincy, IL.
She was born August 22, 1930, in Williamstown, MO, the daughter of Cary Orlten "Ortie" and Velma Leslie Collins.
She married Clarence J. Kirchner on October 18, 1949, in St. Patrick, MO.
Survivors include her husband of St. Patrick, MO; four sons: Clinton Kirchner and his wife, Dixie, of Kahoka, Curtis Kirchner and his wife Jenny, of Eldon, MO, Clifford Kirchner and his wife, Lisa, of Russellville, AR, and Craig Kirchner and his wife, Janis, of Buford, GA; four daughters: Marcia Hardin and her husband, Edd, of Canton, Myrna Daughtry and her husband, Danny, of Mattoon, IL, Carol Hinkebein and her husband, Kevin, of O'Fallon, MO, and Judy Kirchner and friend, Bob Beiber of Baldwinsville, NY; son-in-law, Terry Hunziker of Kahoka; a brother, Leslie W. Collins and his wife, Coos of Sequim, WA; a sister, Emily Jones and her husband, Bob, of Ewing, MO; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Virginia Collins of Spring Valley, IL, Isabelle and Jim Hansen of Rock Island, IL, Lucille Hungate of Galesburg, IL, Howard and Sandie Kirchner of Canton, and Harold and Mary Jo Kirchner of Downing, MO; sixteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Cathy Hunziker; a son, Carl Kirchner; and a brother, Charles Collins.
Nancy graduated from St. Patrick High School in 1948 and was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church. She was a homemaker and worked at Sheller Globe in Keokuk, IA, retiring after 27 years. Following her retirement, she managed the Old Irish Gift Shop in St. Patrick and enjoyed the many visitors that stopped by from all around the world. She also enjoyed watching the birds around her home, especially the hummingbirds she worked hard to attract. She was most happy when she was surrounded by her family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at 10 a.m. at the Shrine of St. Patrick with Father Paul Hartley and Father James Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Patrick Cemetery. Friends may call at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka after 10 a.m. Monday with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. with the Rosary being conducted at 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the St. Patrick Cemetery or the Arthritis Foundation.
