NELLIE MOORE FAULKNER

Nellie R. Faulkner, age 85 of Mt. Pleasant, IA, formerly of Kahoka, MO, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018 in the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA.

Nellie was born January 9, 1933 at home in Williamstown, MO, the daughter of Lester and Oneida Smith Moore.

She married Henry "Hank" Faulkner. He preceded her in death on May 14, 1969.

Survivors include four daughters: Sharrie Faulkner of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Bonnie (Rick) Ransdell of Burlington, IA and Dora Hunsaker and Christy Faulkner, both of Mt. Pleasant, IA; seven grandchildren: Henry Faulkner of Mt. Pleasant, Mandy Ransdell of Burlington, IA, Joey, Sammy and Jessica Stineman and Chris Faulkner, all of Mt. Pleasant, and Shawn Faulkner of Columbia, MO; a brother, Bill (Gloria) Moore of Rocky Mountain, North Carolina; a sister, Betty Jo Armstead of Denver, CO; as well as other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, William Faulkner on November 22, 1998; brother-in-law, Al Armstead; and two grandchildren, Cody Faulkner and Luis Perez.

Nellie graduated from Kahoka High School and attended college at Charleston, IL.

She was a retired employee of the Clark Co. Nursing Home. She worked there many years as a CNA.

Nellie grew up attending the Ballard Baptist Church (now South Wyaconda). Her family and her faith were important to her and she faithfully read and studied her Bible. She loved going to yard sales and collecting porcelain dolls. She was a farm girl at heart and enjoyed gardening and being outdoors.

She has been cremated. There will be no services at this time and inurnment will be at a later date in the Wood National Cemetery in Milwaukee, WI where she will be laid to rest with her husband and her son.
