Norma was a beautician when she met Bill at his family picnic in Hannibal, MO. 7 months later they were married, and she became a military wife. She spent the next 15 years moving around the world with Bill as her family grew. People often overlook how hard it is to be a veteran’s wife. Norma and Bill raised 4 kids in foreign countries and several different stateside assignments. Sometimes Norma did this alone while Bill was away on assignment. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren. As each of her children were married, she just gained another child and treated them as her own. If you asked her how many children, she had she would tell you 8. She became Mom to lots of her children’s friends and grandma to anyone who needed her to be. There was always room in her heart for people. She worked as a beautician and later as a secretary. Following Bill’s retirement from the Air Force, they moved to her family farm in St. Patrick, MO where they owned St. Patrick Meat Processing. In 1986 Norma went to work in the financial aid office at Culver-Stockton College. She worked at Culver until her retirement in 2009. Norma was someone that students would seek out for help or just a friendly ear. She loved working at Culver and kept in touch with many students over the years. Norma was a devout Catholic and a member of the Shrine of St. Patrick in St. Patrick, MO.
