PENNY L. MORTIMER

Penny L. Mortimer, age 68, of Kahoka, MO, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 in Willow Care Rehabilitation Health Care Center in Hannibal, MO.

Penny was born November 29, 1950 in Keokuk, the only child of Dariel and Mary Spellman Scobee.

She married Gerald L. Mortimer on May 31, 1968 in the Alexandria Presbyterian Church.

He preceded her in death on May 3, 2014.

Survivors include two daughters, Robin (Mike) Dalton and Lisa (Cory) Fowler, all of Kahoka; seven grandchildren: Jacob Meier and fiancé Amanda Denning of Canton, Jeremy Dalton and fiancé Taylor Overhulser of Revere, Darylanna Mortimer of Alexandria, Joshua (Courtney) Dalton of Mexico, MO, Devin (Rachel) Fowler of Honolulu, HI, Jessica Dalton of Kahoka and Derreck (Makayla) Fowler, also of Kahoka; ten great-grandchildren: Addison, Rylan, Hunter, Adyn, Oakland, Maddyx, Kinley, Harper, Azura and Aizlynn; also other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her in-laws, Raymond and Hazel Mortimer.

Penny graduated from Clark Co. R-1 High School with the class of 1968. She was a former employee of Shellor Globe and River Center Mental Health both in Keokuk. Following the death of her husband, her health began to fail and she enjoyed playing games on her computer and keeping up with friends and family. Penny always had a big heart and was willing to help anyone who was in need. More than anything, she loved spending time with her girls and their families.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Frazee Cemetery, rural Alexandria, with Bro. Tim Smith officiating. There will be no visitation.

Memorials are suggested to her family with checks payable to Robin Dalton.

Arrangements are being handled by Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka.
