Phyllis E. Zipprich, age 88, of Luray, MO, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at her home.
Phyllis was born July 20, 1927 in Peoria, IL, the daughter of Roy and Elizabeth Grace Breedlove Garnes.
On August 7, 1946 she was united in marriage to Charles O. Zipprich. He preceded her in death on October 5, 2002.
Survivors include three sons, Roger Zipprich of St. Louis, MO, Charles Zipprich of Omaha, NE and Kevin (Teresa) Zipprich of Deland, IL; one daughter, Denise Zipprich of Luray, MO; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a sister, Patricia Fuller; and great-great grandsons, Liam and Levi Ferdig.
Phyllis graduated from high school in Peoria and was employed by Caterpillar and later by J.K. Williams Distilling. Her family moved to Missouri in 1974 when her husband was hired to teach at the Revere School. She spent the rest of her life as a homemaker.
Phyllis was a member of the Luray Methodist Church. She loved the outdoors, particularly fishing and gardening. She was a very intelligent lady who loved to challenge herself with difficult crossword puzzles and spent time daily doing so.
At her request she was cremated and there will be no services.
Her family suggests memorials to the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital in her memory. There were many Shriners in her family.
