ROBERT E. "COWBOY BOB" GARNER

Robert E. "Cowboy Bob" Garner, age 59, of Clark Lake, MI, passed away at his home on Thursday, November 23, 2006, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

He was born March 2, 1947, in Charlotte, NC, a son of Harry C. and Helen S. Garner.

Robert married Johnna Parris, the love of his life, on April 4, 1987 in Rockton, IL.

Survivors include his wife, Johnna, of Clark Lake, MI; his children, Amy and Brandon Stiller and Robert Mitchell Garner, both of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Ashley, Jamie, and Lori Johnson; brothers, Fred (Carolyn), Harry W. (Barbara), Vann (Debby), and Michael Garner; many nieces and nephews and numerous dear friends. In addition, he is survived by his wife's family: her parents, Bill and Kay Parris of Poplar Grove, IL; grandmother, Marialee Cossel of Kahoka, MO; her brother and sister, Konrad and Suzi Parris of Capron, IL and Jennifer Parris of St. Anne, IL; also her aunts and uncles and their families, Cecil and Margie Cossel of Montrose, IA, and Karen and Ron Kuntz of Marietta, GA.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Robert was a proud veteran of the U. S. Air Force, serving in the Vietnam War from 1966-1970. He spent most of his career in the field of industrial engineering, but most recently worked with Century 21, Napoleon, MI. He was a member of the Jackson County Sheriff's Department Mounted Division and Michigan Trail Riders Association. He developed numerous friendships through his involvement with these organizations. Bob enjoyed horseback riding, kayaking, and was an avid outdoorsman. He was an animal lover and will be missed by his beloved horses and basset hound, Mille Ans.

Visitation and services were held on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 in Michigan. A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, December 3, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Kahoka United Methodist Church with Rev. Deborah Schmidt officiating. Inurnment with military rites will be in the Kahoka Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the Kahoka Cemetery.
