RONALD W. BOURGEOIS

Ronald W. Bourgeois, age 65, of Wyaconda, MO, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2019 in the Clark Co. Nursing Home in Kahoka following a brief illness.

Ronnie was born December 31, 1953, in Davenport, IA, a son of Raymond and Betty Speer Bourgeois.

Ronnie is survived by four siblings: Larry (Deb) Bourgeois of Cantril, IA, Karen Handyside of Keokuk, IA, Barb (Brian ) Slocum of Revere, MO, and Allen Bourgeois of Wyaconda, MO; an uncle, Richard Murphy of Hannibal, MO; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Junior Bourgeois; and a brother-in-law, Dan Handyside.

Ronnie graduated from Wyaconda High School with the class of 1971. He worked for George Seyb at his implement dealership, farmed for him, and flew with him on many business occasions. He had been an employee of the City of Kahoka for several years.

Ronnie was a member of the Wyaconda First Baptist Church and the Wyaconda Rural Fire Department. He loved to hunt, trap and fish and especially looked forward to annual trips to Bennett Springs trout fishing with friends. He won the Big Glove Award last year and this was the first time he had missed the event in years. He also looked forward to trips to see his St. Louis Cardinals play ball. He will be especially missed by his dog, Junior.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 26, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor Jack Klose officiating. Burial followed in the Wyaconda Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Wyaconda Rural Fire Department.
