RONNIE G. HAMNER

Ronnie G. Hamner, age 60, of Luray, MO, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2004 in Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, MO.

He was born August 30, 1943 at Luray, MO, a son of Oval and Gladys Brown Hamner.

On April 24, 1960, he was united in marriage to Mary V. Bair at the First Baptist Church in Kahoka.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Mary, of Luray, MO; three daughters, Mrs. Greg (Janie) Horton of Kahoka, MO, Sue White and special friend, Rob Lytle of Donnellson, IA, and Mrs. Lonnie (Ronda) Sommers of Luray, MO; seven grandchildren: Jerimiah Stewart and his wife, Sandra, of Virginia Beach, VA, Mrs. Clifford (Amy) Justice, Jr. of Luray, MO, Shanna White of Donnellson, IA, Krista and Ethan Horton of Kahoka, MO and Levi and Layne Sommers of Luray, MO; five great grandchildren: Jakobie, Hannah, Kyra, and Keegan Justice of Luray, MO, and Keely Smeltzer Stewart of Keokuk, IA; one brother, Gene Hamner of Kahoka MO; two sisters, Mrs. George (Joy) Mendenhall of Memphis, MO, and Mrs. Kevin (Wanda) Walker of Norwalk, IA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill and Janet Bair of Quincy, IL,Ruthie Hamner of Luray, MO, John and Jeanette Small of Claysville, MO, Gene and Shirley Bair of Arbela, MO, Mark and Kris Bair of Bowling Green, MO, Marshall and Mila Suddarth of Annada, MO, and Jim and Cindy Bair of Battlefield, MO; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandchild, Cody Sommers.

Ron had been a farmer, logger, and sawmill operator all of his life. He owned and operated Hamner and Daughters Sawmill and Logging until the past year when his health had started to fail and was still operating Hamner and Sommers Whole Tree Chipping.

He was of the Methodist faith and was a charter member of the Clark Co. Moose Lodge # 1432. He was a great fan of racing. He was also a talented musician and for 27 years played all over the tri-states with the Stardusters. He believed in living life and having fun in what he did. More than anything, he loved and cherished his family.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor Mark Boley officiating.

Burial will be in Combs Cemetery at Luray.

Visitation is after noon on Monday with family receiving friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Wilson Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to Combs Cemetery.
