ROSS ARYAN BLADE CAVINESS
Ross Aryan Blade Caviness, age 4 months of Alexandria, MO, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at his home.
Ross was born August 27, 2017 in Scotland Co. Memorial Hospital in Memphis, MO, the son of Jerry Caviness and Courtney Rockelman.
Survivors include his parents of Alexandria; siblings, Dawn Rockelman of the home,Zaiden and Serena Caviness of Kahoka, and Trinity Clark of Kahoka; grandparents: Todd Rockelman of Alexandria, Alice Caviness of Memphis, and Melody Atterberg of Kahoka; great-grandparents: Gary Rockelman (Pam Elder) of Alexandria and Donna Kamps of Keokuk; aunts and uncles: Seira (Jay) Weber of Keokuk, Sara (Brian) Adams of Farmington, Jaycob Schorr of Keokuk, and Angel Spurgeon of Stockport; several cousins including Stephen Caviness, Cody and Mindy Roberts, Lucille, Evelyn and Braxten Weber, Brenten, Country, and Molly Adams, and Weston Schorr; great aunts and uncles including Kirsty Teeters (Kimber Tilton) of Burlington, Shane Rockelman and Shawn Rockelman of Keokuk, Cindy (Danny) Buntin of Wayland, Carla (Chris) Young of Wayland, Evey Soper and Jeff (Robin) Soper all of Kahoka, Jed (Kim) Soper of Alexandria, Brenda Soper of Keokuk and John Soper of Missouri; as well as other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Mary Rockelman and David and Bonnie Caviness; great-grandparents: Lucille and Carl Soper and Jerry and Agatha Caviness; an aunt, Dawn Roberts; great-uncle, Jerry Soper; and a cousin and her baby, Valerie Buntin.
Ross had a rough start in life and spent his first five weeks in the hospital in Columbia, MO. He became very strong and was always full of smiles. He never fell asleep without a smile appearing on his precious face. His sister Dawn was his favorite person and he would focus on her whenever she was around and didn’t like her to leave the room. He also became very excited when he would hear his papa’s voice. Although his life was very short, Ross left a deep imprint in the lives of those who loved him that will not ever be forgotten.
His funeral service was held Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at The Crossing in Keokuk with Pastor Brian Byquist officiating. Recorded musical selections were: "If I Die Young", "Dancing In The Sky", and "When I Get Where I'm Going" Cremation followed.
Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until time of services at The Crossing in Keokuk.
Memorials are suggested to Courtney Rockelman.
Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka handled the arrangements.
