W. ROVENE UHLMEYER

Rovene Uhlmeyer, age 74, of St. Patrick, MO, died peacefully, Friday, July 13, 2007, at her home.

She was born March 4, 1933, in Clark County, MO, a daughter of Albert P. and Minnie Alice Arnold Kirchner.

On June 2, 1951, she and Kenneth Uhlmeyer were united in marriage at the Shrine of St. Patrick and had recently celebrated their 56th anniversary.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth of St. Patrick; two sons, Bruce and his wife, Melody, of rural Kahoka and Greg and his wife, Mary Jo, of Keokuk; one daughter, Tricia Jenkins and her husband, David, of Kansas City, MO; seven grand-children: Danny and Brandy Uhlmeyer of Shelbyville, MO, Wes and Jessica Uhlmeyer of Monticello, IL, Cheryl Uhlmeyer and her friend, Lute Winkelman,of Chicago, IL, Kenny Jenkins and Brett Jenkins of Kansas City, MO, and Ryan Uhlmeyer an Erin Uhlmeyer of Keokuk; three great grandchilden: Mason, Robert and Addy Uhlmeyer; one brother, Robert Kirchner and his wife, Rita, of Canton; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Dorothy Kirchner of Wyaconda, Eileen Kirchner of Hillsboro, IA, Ervin and Nancy Uhlmeyer of Alexandria, Maxine and Leo Nichols, Jr. of Canton, Anna Logsdon of St. Patrick, Dorothy Knickrehm of Walcott, IA and Alma and Sam Wiskirchen of Eldon, MO; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Arnold and Charles Kirchner.

Rovene was a graduate of St. Patrick High School. She and Kenneth lived in the St. Patrick area all of their married life where she attended the Shrine of St. Patrick and faithfully supported church activities. She was a homemaker and unselfishly gave her time to her family, friends, and the 4-H organization where she was an active leader for many years. Rovene was blessed with many talents. She loved her home and had a special talent for furnishing it with the many antiques that she collected over the years. She was especially skilled in crocheting and made many unique items for her home, family, and friends. She had a passion for gardening and tended an extensive yard filled with many varieties of flowers with the iris being her very favorite. She also enjoyed raising pumpkins and gourds and sold them each fall. She was a nurturer and cherished her family. Holidays were memorable occasions filled with many traditions. She displayed her enthusiasm for Christmas by decorating the entire house and preparing elaborate meals for the entire extended family.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, July 16, 2007, at 10 a.m. at the Shrine of St. Patrick, St. Patrick, MO, with Father James Wheeler officiating. Burial was in the St. Patrick Cemetery.

Visitation was held at Wilson Funeral Home after noon on Sunday with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. and a Scripture service being conducted at 7 p.m.

Memorials in lieu of flowers were suggested to the Shrine of St. Patrick Bell Tower Fund, Blessing Hospice or the Clark Co. Local Cancer Fund.
