RUBY H. HUNZIKER
Ruby Helen Hunziker, age 99, of Kahoka, MO, passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka.
She was born August 31, 1904 near Wyaconda, Missouri, a daughter of Joseph A. and Annie Kirchner Ellison.
She and Clarence R. Hunziker were married on January 29, 1922 at Kahoka. He preceded her in death on October 9, 1991.
Survivors include one son, James C. Hunziker and his wife, Carolyn, of Irving, TX; one daughter, Dorothy M. Ross and her husband, Laverne, of Kahoka, MO; eight grandchildren: Larry Ross and his wife, Ida, of Kahoka, MO, Mary Ann Ross Plenge and her husband, Ralph, of Kahoka, MO, Marilyn Sue Ross of Kahoka, MO, James Hunziker, Jr. and his wife, Colleen, of New Caney, TX, Jill Hunziker Achord and her husband, Randy, of Irving, TX, Kent Hunziker of Kahoka, MO, David Hunziker and his wife, Mary Beth, of Stillwater, OK, and Susan Hunziker Thomas and her husband, Mike, of Leewood, KS; 14 great grandchildren, ten great-great grandchildren; a sister, Virgie Bender of Montrose, IA; plus numerous friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Paul Lee Hunziker in 1979 a daughter-in-law, Charlotte M. Hunziker in 1999; a brother, Elza Ellison; and, three sisters, Hazel Minnerly, Katie Sweet, and Franke Kilkenny.
Ruby was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church and in later years a member of First Baptist Church in Kahoka.
She was a loving and compassionate mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother that cherished not only her family, but her many years on the family farm eight miles south of Kahoka. While on the farm, she loved gardening, cooking for family and friends, and playing cards. In her later years, she enjoyed crocheting afghans and giving them to family members. Ruby was a remarkable person that spoke well of everyone and was loved by everyone. Most of all, she loved and protected her family. She will be greatly missed by each of us.
Funeral services are Saturday, April 3, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Rev. Kenneth Beckmann officiating. and Pastor Shawn McAfee, eulogist. Burial will be in Kahoka Cemetery.
Friends can call after 10 a.m. Friday with family receiving friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Wilson Funeral Home.
