Sharon Schevers

Sharon F. Schevers, age 67, of rural Canton, MO, passed away on Friday evening, October 14, 2016 at her home near St. Patrick.

Sharon was born August 22, 1949 at home near Memphis, MO, a daughter of William E. and Lucille M. Howell Osbon.

Survivors include her son, John Tucker, Jr. (Martha York) of Kahoka; her mother, Lucille Osbon of Kahoka; her companion for over 24 years, Lydia McVeigh of the home; four brothers: Jerry (Jeannie) Osbon of Chillicothe, Jim (Mary) Osbon of Kahoka, Charlie (Ruth) Osbon of Wayland, and, Buddy (Anita) Osbon of Winchester; two sisters, Marjan Haage of Kahoka and LuJean (Charles) Horter of Kahoka; sister-in-law, Brenda Osbon of Kahoka as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Schevers; her father, William Osbon; one brother, Ronnie Osbon; and two nephews: Adam Osbon and Shay Brand.

Sharon attended Revere High School and was a retired employee of Metzler’s in Keokuk.

She was an honorary member of United Steel Workers Local 444 at Keokuk.

Sharon loved animals and caring for her cows, pet goat, and her dog, Princess. She also loved spending time with her family. She loved looking for treasures through the items Lydia and her sisters would bring home from the auctions they loved to attend. Her faith was an important part of her life and she loved helping people and doing whatever she could to make them happy.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor Shawn McAfee officiating. Recorded musical selections included: "I Can Only Imagine" and "There's Something About That Name". Pallbearers were: John Tucker, Charlie Osbon, Dan Haage, Mike Haage, Jim Osbon, Buddy Osbon, Joe Haage, Charles Horter. Honorary bearers were: Jerry Osbon, Andrew Osbon and Kevin Osbon. Burial will follow in the Kahoka Cemetery.

Friends call at Wilson Funeral Home after 9 a.m. on Tuesday with family receiving friends from 1 p.m. until time of services.

Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to NEMO Hospice.
