SHIRLEY J. WENKE

Shirley J. Wenke, age 74, of Wayland, MO, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2005 at her home.

She was born June 1, 1931 in Fort Madison, IA, a daughter of Fred and Mildred Trezona Graber.

On September 9, 1950 she was united in marriage to Carl J. Wenke in Fort Madison. He preceded her in death in 1975.

Survivors include three daughters: Gail Schmitz and her husband, Larry, of Barnett, MO, Dixie Wenke of Bonaparte, IA, and Deanna Henson and her husband, Jamie, of Wayland, MO; four grandchildren, Anna Beckman and her husband, Darren, of Stover, MO, Katherine Solomon and her husband, Yaniv of St. Louis, MO, Shiloh Eggers of Wayland, MO, and Skye Henson of Wayland, MO; five great grandchildren: Nicole Beckman, Isaac LeVan, Caitlin and Wednesday

McCluskey and Kloey Eggers; one sister, Darleen Emerick and her husband, Albert, of Quincy, IL; a half sister, Janis Boehm and her husband, Marve, of Freeport, IL; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Norman and Robert Graber; and a son, Neil Wenke.

Shirley had been a homemaker most of her life. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and was a collector, especially of chickens. She loved her family and had a special place in her heart for

animals.

Funeral services are Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor Deborah Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery in Fort Madison, IA.

Friends can call at Wilson Funeral Home after 9 a.m. on Tuesday with family receiving friends one hour prior to services.

Memorials in her honor are suggested to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
