STAN R. REED

Stan R. Reed, age 55, of Alexandria, MO, died Sunday, June 11, 2006, at his home of natural causes.

He was born October 18, 1950, in Keokuk, IA, a son of Herschel A. "Dub" and Lois E. Bennett Reed.

He is survived by his son, Todd R. Reed and his wife, Shana, of Alexandria, MO; a stepdaughter, Christine Calvo and her husband, Andres, of Phoenix, AZ; two grandchildren, Gabriel and Abigail Reed; two step-grandsons, Nikolas and Andres Calvo; two brothers, Steve Reed and his wife, Diana, and Dale Reed, all of Alexandria, MO; two sisters, Anne Howell and her husband, Steve, and Linda Reed, all of Kahoka, MO; two uncles, Basil "Red" Reed of Keokuk, IA and Cecil Reed and his wife, Joan, of Prairie Village, KS; two aunts, Fonda Reed and Gladys Reed, both of Keokuk, IA; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; three uncles; and, three aunts.

Stan enjoyed things of nature and it reflected in different areas of his life - working in his garden, running a dozer, and working with rocks and geodes. He spent most of his life as a heavy equipment operator and loved running a dozer. In later years he worked at Sheffler's Rock Shop near his home. The most important job to him was caring for his grandchildren who were his reason for living. He cherished the happiness and fullness they brought to his life.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 15, 2006 at 10 a.m. at Frazee Cemetery

with burial following. Family and friends are invited to the Alexandria Community Center immediately following the service for a lunch and time to reminisce.

Friends can register between the hours of 9 and 5 until time of services at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka.

Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to the family.
