SUMMER ROSE DEAN - MALONE
Summer Rose Dean-Malone, age 25, of Kahoka, MO, died unexpectedly Monday, August 8, 2011, at her home.
Summer was born July 25, 1986, at Keosauqua, IA, a daughter of Darrel Dean and Laura Westercamp Dean.
She was engaged to be married to Jared Malone.
Survivors include her parents, Darrel and Brenda Dean and their son, Zachary, of Kahoka and Laura Dean of Bonaparte; her fiancé, Jared Malone of Kahoka; their daughter, Jennifer Rose Malone of Kahoka; grandparents: LaVerne and Deah Westercamp of Farmington and Mary Jo and Gale "Topper" Howell of Whitefish, MT; great-grandmothers, Alice Pitford of Kahoka and Victorine Townsend of Fairfield, IA; Jared's parents, Patrick and Deborah Malone of Kahoka; two sisters, Terra (Mrs.Matthew) Fox of Kahoka and Winter (Mrs. Albert) Mellinger of Bonaparte; Jared's sister,Jennifer (Mrs. Michael) Kauth of Kahoka; step-brother, Brandon Rainbolt and companion, Lisa Batley, of Kahoka, step-sister, Natasha (Greg) Trame of Rochester, IL, nieces and nephews: Allison and Amellia Fox, Cale and Cade Mellinger, Leighanne Moulder, Madison Rose Kauth, Rachel and Rebekah Rainbolt, Marlee Trame, and, Sean and Ryan Rainbolt; aunts and uncles: Corey and Sonja Dean of Kahoka, Steve Dean of Kahoka, Stanley Dean of Montrose, Ginger and Craig Cunningham of Warsaw, Dustin and Jill Westercamp of Farmington, Missy and Jon Snider of Farmington, Tianna and Dale Fincher of Farmington and Jed and Stephanie Westercamp of Davenport; as well as great aunts and uncles, cousins, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, C. J. Dean and great-grandfather, Marion Pitford.
Summer graduated with honors from Clark County R-1 High School with the class of 2005. She recently was employed by Steve's Family Dining in Kahoka and together with Jared attended Bible Baptist Church.
Summer loved life. She was most content when she was outdoors, whether walking in the woods, arrowhead hunting, playing with her dogs - Midnight, Cotton and Ashie, or riding her horse, Bingo. She was a former buckle winner at mutton busting and barrel racing and had enjoyed fishing. She loved being on the farm and riding with Jared to check on crops. She cherished her friendships and her family. More than anything, she loved Jared and her daughter, Jenny Rose.
Funeral services were held Friday, August 12, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor Glenn Yoder officiating. Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery.
