Tammie L. Boatman, age 39, of Kahoka, MO, died unexpectedly Thursday, June 23, 2011, in the emergency room of Fort Madison Community Hospital, Fort Madison, IA.

She was born June 4, 1972 in Keosauqua, IA, a daughter of Gary Charles and Sharon Ray Hopp.

Tammie and Darin Boatman were united in marriage on September 17, 1994 at Kahoka.

She is survived by her husband, Darin; her son, Brendahn of the home; parents, Gary Charles Hopp of Luray and Sharon Hopp of Kahoka; her in-laws, James and Nancy Fryer Boatman of Wayland; grandparents, Billy and Betty Ray of Luray; a brother, Brad (Brenda) Hopp of Toulon, IL; brother-in-law, Danial (Michelle) Boatman of Columbia; nieces and nephews: Mora, Bryce and Bennett Boatman and Olivia and Brett Hopp; as well as numerous aunts and uncles, cousins and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Lester and Elnora Hopp.

Tammie graduated from Clark Co. R-1 High School with the class of 1990. She was a member of the Luray Baptist Church and was her son's biggest fan. She loved her family and friends and had a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews. She was full of life, love, caring, and compassion and always had a smile for everyone. Her greatest joy in life came from being Brendahn's mom and cheering him on in his sports activities.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 27, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor Shawn McAfee officiating. Burial will follow in the Kahoka Cemetery.

Friends may call at Wilson Funeral Home after 11 a.m. Sunday with family receiving friends from 2-4 p.m.

Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to Brendahn's education fund.
