TOVE M. BOLTZ

Tove M. Boltz, age 74, of Kahoka, MO, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at the Clark Co. Nursing Home in Kahoka.

She was born December 2, 1933, at Los Angeles, CA, a daughter of Karl and Thyra

Bengsten Pedersen. On October 2, 1954, she was united in marriage to John T. Boltz in Las Vegas, NV and they were looking forward to their 54th wedding anniversary this coming October.

Survivors include her husband, John, of Kahoka, MO; three daughters, Linda DuBois and her husband, Richard, of Encinitas, CA, Georgia Worden and her husband, Robert, of Seattle, WA, and Melissa Ontiveros and her husband, Mike, of Carlsbad, CA; a sister, Evelyn Smith and her husband, Glen, of California; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Wayne and Dalene Boltz, Bob and Kate Boltz, and Carol and John Rose, all of Keokuk, IA, and Donna and David Clark of Montrose, IA; also, twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Teresa Jean Boltz.

Tove was an honor graduate of Fremont High School, Los Angles, CA, and attended Manhattan Business College in Los Angeles. She met John while a private secretary in LA and worked for a brief period following her marriage. After raising her four daughters, at the age of 38, she went to nursing school and after receiving her degree worked the next twelve years mainly at the Adventist Hospital in Simi Valley, CA.

Tove was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Keokuk, IA, and was also a member of the Wayland Extension Club. She was an accomplished seamstress, and made each of her daughters'wedding dresses. She was a beautiful lady with many talents, but she was first and foremost a great mother. As her children were being raised, she was responsible for their day-to-day activities and education, making it possible for John to be away from home in his job. Her family was very dear to her heart.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 19, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor Terry Mahnke officiating and Melissa Ontiveros, eulogist. Burial was in the Day Cemetery, rural Winchester, MO.

Memorials are suggested to the Clark Co. Nursing Home.
