VERA F. HALL

Vera Ferne Hall, age 91, of Kahoka, MO, formerly of the Williamstown area, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 9, 2016, in Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

Vera was born October 27, 1924, near Kahoka, MO, a daughter of Earl William and Edna Muhrer Hunziker.

She was married to Robert E. Hall on December 26, 1943 in the E & R Church in Kahoka.

Survivors include one son, Harold (Marilyn) Hall of Williamstown, MO; son-in-law, Bill Kelley of Carlinville, IL; five grandchildren: Corey Hall and fiancé, Melissa Barber of Gillman, IL, Jeremy (Libby) Hall of Carthage, IL, Darren Hall of Williamstown, MO, Andy McCoy of Springfield, IL, and Christopher McCoy of Carbondale, IL; eight great-grandchildren: Caroline, Sierra, Cheyenne, Bryce and Madison Hall and Olivia, David and Sam McCoy; a sister, Erma Reynolds of Georgetown, TX; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Janet Kelley; and brother and sister-in-law, Harlan and Maxine Hunziker; and brother-in-law, Wendell Reynolds.

Vera attended Enterprise school and graduated from Kahoka High School.

She spent her life as a homemaker and farm wife alongside her husband, Robert. She put in a large garden, raised various livestock and cared for them, and all that goes along in running a farm. She was very content in her life, choosing to stay on the farm for the most part and visiting with neighbors and family. She also loved to read and watch hummingbirds and other small animals that would visit near her window. She was a life-long member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka.

Funeral services were held Sunday, June 12, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Rev. Dixie Laube officiating. Music was provided by vocalist, Mr. HL Plenge, singing "In The Garden". Burial followed in the Kahoka Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Jeremy Hall, Darren Hall, Andy McCoy, Chris McCoy, Henry Heinze, Terry Hunziker, Corey Hall and Bryce Hall.

Friends may call at Wilson Funeral Home after noon on Saturday with family receiving friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to St. Paul United Church of Christ or the donor's choice.
