WENDELL "GAIL" LUDWICK

Wendell "Gail" Ludwick, age 81, of Kahoka, MO, died Thursday, June 3, 2010, at the Clark Co. Nursing Home in Kahoka.

Gail was born August 8, 1928 at Lawrence, KS, a son of Wilford Claude and Mabel Hilda Watkins Ludwick.

He married Dorothy Eileen Murray on April 9, 1950 at Kahoka. She preceded him in death on December 8, 1997.

Survivors include three sons: Gary Ludwick, Alan Ludwick and his wife, Judy, and Roger Ludwick and his wife, Betty Jane, all of Kahoka, MO; seven grandchildren: Shonda Ludwick of St. Francisville, MO, Daniel Ludwick of Revere, MO, Bryan Ludwick of Kahoka, MO, Alisha Ludwick of Jacksonville, FL, Ashley Brunk and her husband, Jeremiah, of Kahoka, MO, Walter Ludwick of Toledo, IA, and Dylan Ludwick of Revere, MO; four great grandchildren: Dalton Ludwick, Alex Brammer, Anja Brunk and Marilyn Sue Groseclose; four sisters: Joan Arnot of Ottumwa, IA, Ruth Ludwick of Gorin, MO, Carol Peterie of Vermillion, SD and Marilyn Cameron and her husband, John, of St. Francisville, MO; two sisters-in-law: Imogene Heidbreder of Fort Madison, IA and Doris Hiller of Burlington, IA; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one brother, Kenneth Lee Ludwick; daughter-in-law, Patricia Ludwick; and nephews, Kenneth Lee Ludwick, Jr. and Steven Hobson.

Gail farmed all of his life and raised hogs. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and taking endless walks with his dogs. He supported the bloodmobile faithfully and always gave blood when able.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 7, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with burial following in the Kahoka Cemetery.

Memorials were suggested to the Kahoka Cemetery or the American Red Cross Blood Services.
