WILLIAM J. JOHNSTON

William J. Johnston, age 84, of Kahoka, MO, passed away Friday, December 26, 2014 at the Clark Co. Nursing Home in Kahoka.

William was born January 6, 1930 in Illinois, a son of Mabel Washburn and Harry Johnson.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran.

William spent most of his life in the Hotel and Restaurant industry and in dealing with Indian jewelry, clothing, and artifacts. His most recent business was Arrow West, which he ran out of his home in Kahoka with Carolene.

William had a daughter,Ann Kathleen Johnston,in 1971 while living in California. He married Carolene Malone Priebe in 1993. She preceded him in death in 1995. He was also preceded in death by his mother, Mabel Washburn Bishop.

He is survived by several step-children and half-siblings.

Graveside memorial services with military honors were held Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Kahoka Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Wilson Funeral Home for final expenses with any balance to the Kahoka Senior Housing.
