William Stevenson

William “Bill” Penn Stevenson, 88, of Kahoka, MO, passed away Friday, September 13, 2024, at Keosauqua Health Care Center in Keosauqua, Iowa. He was born May 10, 1936, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Melvin and Anna (Ryland) Stevenson. He married Joy (Wood) Stevenson on November 12, 1962, in Kahoka, MO and she preceded him in death on May 20, 2013.

Bill attended school at Keokuk High School. He then started working for Foote Minerals as a laborer. He later started working for Sheller Globe where he retired and was a proud union member. Bill loved the outdoors and enjoyed deer hunting and fishing at the river with his many friends and going to “The Cabin”.

Bill liked to eat, looked forward to the holidays, and watched Westerns 24/7. Bill had many dear friends and family and cherished his time with them all.

Bill is survived by; 1 son; Michael Stevenson of Fort Madison, IA, 3 daughters; Susie Varner of Keokuk, IA, Jonann Byrn of Argyle, IA, Billie Stevenson of Kahoka, MO, 6 grandchildren; Josh, Gerret, Amanda, Debra, Michael, Mathias, several great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
